Cocktail Hour (60 Minutes)
While you and your wedding party are finishing photos, your guests can enjoy cocktails, appetizers, and conversation. This is the perfect opportunity to set the mood with upbeat background music that welcomes everyone and builds anticipation for the evening ahead.
If you’re taking photos at your venue, consider scheduling a full hour for cocktail hour so you don’t feel pressured to rush.
Grand Entrance (10 Minutes)
Once guests are seated, it’s time to introduce the wedding party and, of course, the newlyweds.
Your DJ will coordinate with your photographer, videographer, venue staff, and wedding planner to ensure everyone is ready before the introductions begin. A well-timed entrance creates excitement and sets the tone for the rest of the celebration.
Dinner Service (45–75 Minutes)
During dinner, music should enhance the atmosphere without overpowering conversation. Your DJ will adjust the volume and select music that complements the mood while allowing guests to comfortably visit with one another.
Depending on the size of your guest list and your catering style, dinner typically lasts between 45 minutes and an hour and fifteen minutes.
Toasts & Special Moments (15–20 Minutes)
Many couples choose to schedule toasts after guests have finished eating. This allows everyone to relax and enjoy heartfelt speeches from parents, the best man, maid of honor, or other loved ones.
